Established soft-rock king Michael Bolton has honored several genres besides his own adult contemporary category, including ‘60s soul and works from the Great American Songbook. The blue-eyed soul/soft rock singer/songwriter’s most recent foray—2013’s “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough: A Tribute to Hitsville USA”—focuses on Motown classics, particularly the work of the great Marvin Gaye. The balladeer, who sold the first two albums of his five-decade career under his birth name Michael Bolotin, has unveiled a total of 17 studio albums, five of which have been certified multi-platinum in the U.S. Bolton has sold tickets worldwide on several support tours, including a steady schedule of theater concerts and casino performances. He’s also parlayed his creativity into a part-time acting career, taking on small roles in movies like “Snow Dogs” and “High Voltage,” as well as television shows such as appearances as himself on the highly-rated “Two and a Half Men.”
